Deep tissue massage, also known as myofascial release, consists of a group of techniques use to access deeper layers of musculature unreachable by traditional Swedish massage. This work is used to lengthen the connective tissue or fascia that often becomes restricted and knotted due to postural imbalances, old injuries, altered movement patterns, emotional stress and other chronic issues.
In using these techniques, I work with the body's responses by slowly sinking into tight and restricted areas to lengthen the soft tissue allowing deeply held tension to “melt” and relax. Combined with Swedish massage you have an absolutely relaxing session with long lasting results.
