The Hendrickson Method (HM) of orthopedic massage and manual therapy, is a powerful yet gentle bodywork technique designed to provide lasting, functional, improvement to people with orthopedic conditions such as low back pain, neck stiffness, neck pain, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, knee injuries, arthritis, tennis elbow, carpel tunnel and others.
Firmly based in 30 years of clinical research and study, HM blends massage, manual therapy, and Eastern energy healing. It is dynamic and effective and the results are profound – significant relief from pain, dramatically enhanced range of motion, improved athletic performance, and extraordinary relaxation.
The majority of HM is done with the client on his side in a relaxed position with a pillow underneath his head and another between his flexed knees; the way many people sleep. Also HM can be done fully clothed and without oil with no decrease in its effectiveness.
A gentle rocking motion is created as massage stokes, called Wave Mobilization, are applied in a rhythmic, wave like pattern. As motion is induced into the body, muscles and fascia are gently repositioned back to their functional alignment, joints are mobilized and lubricated and overall tension is dissolved creating more fluidity and pain free movement.
The other major aspect of this technique is assisted movement and isometrics called Muscle Energy Technique or MET. METs are used to effectively reduce trigger points quickly and painlessly, reduce muscles tension due to postural imbalances and speed the recovery of soft tissue trauma and injuries. MET is painless to receive and achieves great results in a fraction of the time that most others techniques take to work
You will be amazed at the results you feel.
